SGS Sport’s Cosmo Browne Represents England Colleges in International Tournament

SGS Sport’s Cosmo Browne proudly represented England Colleges in a thrilling international tournament, showcasing his talent on the big stage. The competition saw England Colleges take on teams from San Marino, Canada, the USA, and Italy (LND Lazio) in a series of intense matches.

Browne played a crucial role throughout the tournament, delivering strong performances and demonstrating his ability in midfield. England’s campaign kicked off with a 2-0 victory over San Marino, where Browne entered the game halfway through the first half and made a solid impact in the number 4 position.

In the second match against Canada, England dominated with a 4-0 win, and Browne played the full 80 minutes, impressing with his ball movement and creativity in attack. The third fixture saw England face a tough USA side, the strongest opposition of the tournament. Despite a narrow 3-2 defeat, England still had a chance to progress, relying on goal difference after a three-way tie in the group standings.

After a tense wait at the team hotel, the confirmation came – England had qualified for the final against Italy (LND Lazio). Browne started and played the full 80 minutes, helping England take an early 1-0 lead. However, two second-half goals from Italy saw them edge the contest 2-1, despite a late attacking effort where Browne made a surging run from midfield and delivered a dangerous cross, only to be denied by an outstanding save.

Reflecting on the tournament, Browne said:
"Although we fell short in the final, I was very pleased with my performances throughout the competition. It was an incredible experience, and I’m proud to have represented England Colleges."
