SGS College is thrilled to announce that Ethan Williams, the talented young centre who has excelled in both rugby union and rugby league, has been selected for the Wales U18s Rugby League squad for their upcoming international match against Ireland. This selection marks a significant milestone in Ethan’s promising career, as he is set to appear on the rugby league international stage next week.

Ethan’s journey to this achievement has been nothing short of impressive. A standout centre for SGS College’s rugby union team, he has demonstrated exceptional pace, sharp vision, and an uncanny ability to break through defensive lines. His versatility and quick adaptation of skills across both codes—combining the tactical awareness of rugby union with the physicality of rugby league—have set him apart and paved the way for this exciting opportunity.

Ethan began his rugby journey playing for Rhondda, a club with a rich sporting heritage, where he grew up surrounded by a strong and supportive community. Raised in a family with a deep passion for the sport, Ethan credits his parents for their encouragement and influence throughout his development. His dedication and relentless work ethic, both on and off the field, have been key factors in his rapid progression.

While balancing his academic commitments, Ethan has been a prominent member of SGS College’s ACE programme whilst also studying on the DiSE (Diploma in Sporting Excellence) Programme and a regular feature for the Bristol Bears U18s squad. His all-around abilities have been recognized not just in rugby union but now also in the rugby league arena, as he takes on the challenge of representing Wales U18s on the international stage.
